I saw SoI this week, and I can’t 100% confirm Isabeau did zero jumps all night, but I remember getting to the end of Material Gurl and thinking, “Huh, she did that without any jumps.” I feel like there were maybe a couple jumps in zoobie zoo, maybe one with a hand down, but I don’t remember clearly
One of the things I was specifically watching for at Stars on Ice this weekend was Isabeau jumps (because the general consensus I've heard over the years is that her technique is... Unusual, and I was curious if I could get better insight on that by seeing them live and in person, lol). No jumps.
I hadn't heard about the potential injury until now, but that makes a lot of sense.
I will admit after seeing KoKo get dumped for MurTak I am a little concerned about Yoshida and Morita with Uno/Honda. I mean yes Yoshida/Morita are young and have more potential than KoKo ever did but JFed is weird sometimes and I adore Yoshida/Morita and don't want to see them get dumped. So I hope you're right that this results in two spots for Japanese Ice Dancers in 2030.
I had been stressed about Haase/Volodin's funding situation I will admit, I enjoy them a lot and didn't want to see them forced into retirement before they were ready. I was optimistic that once they won Worlds the German Fed would have to get it together as a result and I'm glad that worked out.
Did you see that Hannah Lim soft launched her new partnership and everyone online is assuming it's Zak?
