RDs are going to be 40% Vogue/Take A Bow/Justify My Love; 30% Believe/Strong Enough/If I Could Turn Back Time; and 30% Black or White/Remember The Time/Earth Song. Piper and Paul can continue their Annie Lennox love with a Why/Walking On Broken Glass program or do something really goofy to a band like the Offspring, Weezer, or Cake. Evgeniia and Geoffrey can do French rapper IAM, an artist whose name coincidentally reminds the judging panel who they're dealing with. I see Chock and Bates doing Jewel. And if someone doesn't reenact Stranz and Fairchild's Good Vibrations program from Blades of Glory, then this whole 90s theme opportunity will be a waste of time.

Oh, good call on the Cake. Someone should do "Going the Distance." Buy you're right-- they're going to go with the war horses.

Ha! Thank you for the Helene Hanff recommendation. I did not know she'd written anything apart from Charing Cross. Also thank you for the dance party links. OMG I love Donovan! And Nina's message made me chuckle. How to throw shade without looking like you're throwing shade.

I admit, I had to google them. But of course I could sing along with at least the first two songs I sampled.

Oh my lord… I LOVE a good stationary store. I spend hours in them! More stationary store content, please! The Paper Crane in Half Moon Bay, CA is one of my all time faves. There are several in San Francisco and Japantown has lots…can’t think of their names now…of course. 🙄

Those party photos are a HOOT.

I am of the age where I must categorically reject any attempt to make “the 90s” a category, because they were like five minutes ago, hello…. But I am seriously hoping for some Spice Girls, and a full Sarah Maclachlan Lilith Fair mashup program.

Come on, Lilah Fear, do the obvious British thing to do. Everybody wants this.

Oooh I would loooove to see a routine set to some New Jack Swing- BBD's "Poison", "This is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan, anything by Boys II Men, Salt N Pepa, or En Vogue ("SHOOP" and "Whatta Man"- can you even imagine???!??)

NEW JACK SWING IS BRILLIANT. I think this is Allison Reed's way back to the Olympics.

I didn't know I needed a "Poison" ice dance until right this second, but now I really need it.

Generally I'm hoping the teams embrace variety and don't all go with the same 10 songs. And not just American, let's get some euro dance music in there. Someone needs to do an Ace of Base program.

Ace of Base has to be a given, right? Like surely this is a point of pride for the Swedish team?

Or maybe Orihara/Pirinen? Finland is right next door!

The 90s dances are going to be a campy gift. I’m hoping for a Shania Twain medley going head to head with Nirvana.

I feel like Green/Parsons will go grunge rock. We need another American team to do Shania, and then they can skate back to back at Nationals.

The Canadians are doing Celine Dion & The Tragically Hip, right? Who’s doing swing revival? Preferably in khakis for a full Gap ad recreation!

Just when Kvitelashvili thought he was out, they pull him back in.

I love “The Duchess of Bloomsbury Street.” Also try Hanff’s “Underfoot in Show Business.”

Thanks for the rec! My local library only has her two big ones; I'm planning to hunt down the others in used bookstores around here.
